Durjay-Bhaumik

Originating from Kolkata's rich musical fabric, Durjay Bhaumik has carved an illustrious niche in Tabla music. His musical journey was seeded early, under the discerning tutelage of Pandit Dulal Nutta of the Banaras Gharana. Deepening his expertise, he began advanced studies with the revered Tal Yogi, Pandit Suresh Talwalkar, in 2001.

Durjay's mastery over Tabla, evident in his tonal excellence, intricate rhythmic expressions, and keen sensitivity towards musical nuances, has made him a frequent presence in the foremost Classical Music Festivals in India and abroad. Over his expansive career, Durjay's collaborations have crossed cultural boundaries, performing with international luminaries like Art Lee of Japan, Raho Langsepp of Estonia, and the Vienna youth choir. His directorship of the rhythm ensemble "NAAD CONFLUENCE" brought together Hindustani and Carnatic Classical Music maestros, earning praise from connoisseurs and critics alike.

An "A" graded artist by notable institutions like All India Radio and Doordarshan, Durjay's educational journey spans a Graduation in Commerce from Kolkata University and a master's in music from Indira Kala Sangeet Viswavidyalay (Khairagarh University). His performances have graced stages across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, the USA, and Canada, always meeting with acclaim and admiration.
